Good Drinking

Good -
Alain Grignon Old Vine Carignon £4.99 Majestic
Vielle Ferme Red £5.99 Made by the Perrin Brothers of Beaucastel fame. Organic.
Oyster Bay Sauvignon commercial, they makes millions of bottles of it but I like it!

Higher Plot Cider. Bottle Fermented naturally.

The Wine Society - 100 year old buying Co op. You pay £40 for a share and the wines are all very well chosen.
Glastonbury Beers - light in alcohol well - just under 4%
Becks Blue - very light in alcohol
Pilsner Urquell

Lindauer Blanc de Blancs - it is the same as top class Champagne of the same style

Gruner Veltlinger - German style bottle, hard sounding name and it comes from Austria. 99% of people will never get past all that.

Sainsburys Own Label Manzanilla Sherry - made by Lustau. Look at the 4 digit lot code. The first number is the year and the other three are the day so - 0129 means it was bottled on the 129th day of 2010. Look for the most recent number.

Somerset Cider Brandy  Better than the best Calvados. Made from mean, hard, small and bitter apples that taste like heaven once distilled.

Bad
The most overpriced wines in the world are cheap Sancerre, Chablis and Chateauneuf du Pape.
Buy NZ Sauvignon, Unoaked Chardonnay and a different Rhone like Gigondas or Vacqueyras.

If a wine is half price on offer - it's off promotion price is double what it's worth.
